Introduction

We have seen big changes in identification systems recently. From simple encoded password to fingerprint, face recognize, voice recognize, etc. Brainwave recognition is a new technology that provides new possibilities in the security field. In the same period of time, video game systems has also been changed rapidly. From 2000 first generation Playstation to the current playstation  with VR, we think that it is time to combine brain wave reading and game control with brain waves to provide better game experience for players. This project will pave the way to the future of playing game using our brainwave reading and recognizing technology. With our findings, people are able to load their game save by brainwave identification system and control game only by thinking instead of using console or game controllers.

Goal

Our project is focused around the Emotiv EEG headset and how we can use it to build a game system that can also recognize players when they put the headset on. This headset is able to detect  brain activities in different channels and our goal is to be able to read different channels signals and to  use these signals as an input for the computer games Super Mario. Our game systems will have two parts to it: player identification, and game controls. Player identification will consist of the player putting on the headset, viewing or listening to a piece of media then being recognized based on their brain’s response to the input. The second part of our project is where the player wears the headset and plays the game.

Innovations

The contributions that we make will impact the way that people play computer games. The way that users play computer games has changed in the last 20 years has been all about providing best experience. These have been very apparent with the rise of the Nintendo Wii and now recently we are seeing things such as the Myo armband games. We want to take the field of technology control to the next level. If we can apply the same thinking to our game, it could change the way people interact with games and possibly other technology as well.
