Idea:

  • The project idea is a smart pill bottle that is used to help those who take addictive pills as a form of treatment for their ailment. This bottle is designed to record the behavior of the patient and the extent of their addiction and to prevent them from taking more than prescribed. In order to prevent this, we are thinking of using placebo medication in which the patient does not know about and cannot see through the bottle.  We plan to have the bottle be split in the middle where one side contains the medication and the other side contains the placebos.  The top of the bottle is where the patient. Additionally, the bottle will have an LCD screen,  some buttons, and a finger scanner.

  • The name of our mentor is Sergio Gago and he is a professor in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Science.
