Project Inquiry: Prosthetic Arm/Remote Presence with Web/Neural/Glove Interface

This is an archive site. Current senoir design projects are at https://projects.eng.uci.edu.

Hi all, I've been working on a side project throughout the past year on a 3d printed robotic arm, from the Inmoov open source project. I am setting it up so that it is controllable via web interface or via a glove with flex sensors, though eventually I am aiming to have something similar to the neural interface accomplished here. I would like to know if it is possible to expand on this for a senior project, and contibute additional research as part of our studies.

This project would be similar in scope to the Neural Enhanced Universal Ride, though it can explore different technologies such as sensor systems, remote control and/or AI, etc. Thus this project would investigate applications towards low cost prostheses/autonomous platforms/remote presence/neural interfacing technologies, depending on what we decide is feasible for a quarter or so of work.

If anyone is interested in similar ideas it would be cool to hear them as well. Thanks!

I really like this idea, and had a similar idea, but for application on pets (mostly dogs) with missing limbs. If you have room in your group I'd definitely like to join you!

I am currently in a group with 1 other person, and we were wondering if both of us can join your group to make it a group of 4! Please let me know if this is alright, thanks!
