Team information:

  • Strengths: ambitious, hardworking, creative, go getters.

  • Goal: we are going to build a cool project with our hardworking.

  • Mentor:

    • Professor Chin C. Lee, Electrical Engineering

    • Brandon Finger and Guanyi Liu were students of Professor Lee’s Solid-State Electronics course in the Spring of 2017. Professor Lee’s excellent teaching style and wealth of knowledge convinced the team that Lee would be the best mentor for this project, especially considering his expertise in electronics. His skills and knowledge will be able to guide the project as it moves forward.

    • The team also considered Professor H. P. Lee as a potential mentor and although he is an excellent instructor, the team decided to go with Professor Lee due to his research interests and past publications.

  • Project Idea:

    • The teams project idea is to develop a handheld device capable of emulating retro video games, playing music, browsing the internet, equipped with mini HDMI connection and wifi.

    • The idea was designed by students and inspired by past video game devices.

    • This will be a good fun project because it incorporates software, hardware and power knowledge all together to create a fun device. There have been devices like this developed in industry but we plan on developing an improved version by adding the capabilities mentioned above (wifi, music, HDMI).

    • The team has some sufficient knowledge. This project will require research and personal growth on behalf of all of the team members in order successfully develop the device. Tentatively, Guanyi will be in charge of software, Brandon will be in charge of systems engineering and Peter will cover software.

    • The project is multidisciplinary and will require skills from software and hardware. Each team member will bring their knowledge to the table to develop the device.
